Vows are necessary, they live out the bible's instructions found in 1st Corinthians 13:1-8a
Now, after 42 years of marriage and 42 years walking in His way as born-again believers, we know that marriage is far more than a ceremony, weddings are only the beginning. Therefore, we desire to educate as many as we can on the need for biblical teaching and requirement to put forth the same energy and effort into their married life as is put into, dating, courting and wedding ceremonies. Don't overlook the work, the planning, the sacrifice that is necessary till death do we part. We understand through our own marriage, that this is not a contractual relationship with options and termination clauses as the society treats marriage. Seasons change, we change and Satan will take full advantage to deceive any who are unwise in knowing what the will of God is for marriage. Weddings are beautiful, but just as it takes work to make them so, it will take work to make our living a covenant-beautiful marriage as well. We need ongoing spiritual nourishment and committed, faithful acts toward our mates. Our mission here is to be an example of this for you, to teach and guide couples to embrace God's work with the grace and honor. Though there be many naysayers in this world, speaking against marriage. We learned that obeying God is why we are together strong 42 years later, happy instead of miserable, hopeful instead of dread, thankful instead of bitter, and grateful in it all.
